Pinterest download options
Check Pinterest’s own download options first.
Saving a Pin to a board keeps a reference on Pinterest. Downloading a file saves media to your device. The available controls depend on the Pin and its creator settings.
Saving a Pin and downloading a file are different
Use Pinterest’s Save control when you want to find a Pin again in one of your boards. That does not create a local image or video file. Downloading saves a file to your device, where it may appear in the browser’s Downloads list, Photos app, or file manager depending on your device settings.
Pinterest explains the difference in its image download help.
For an image Pin
- On desktop: open the Pin, select the ellipsis beside the image, then choose Download image. From the home feed, use the ellipsis at the bottom-right of the image.
- On a phone: open the Pin, tap the menu below the image, and choose Download image. The exact menu can vary between the Pinterest app and a mobile browser.
- If the option is missing: Pinterest says not every Pin can be downloaded. Try the Pin menu from the home feed or use Pinterest in a browser. If the control still is not offered, save the Pin to a board or ask its creator for a copy; do not try to bypass the restriction.
Follow Pinterest’s current image-download instructions if labels or menus differ. After a download, check the destination shown by your browser or device, available storage, and photo or file permissions.
For a video Pin
Pinterest’s creator setting applies to eligible full-screen (9:16) video Pins. A creator can turn Video Pin downloads on or off in Pinterest’s social-permissions settings. When downloads are enabled, Pinterest says a downloaded video may show the creator’s username as a watermark. Use the download control Pinterest displays for that Pin; this setting does not make every video downloadable.
See Pinterest’s current video Pin download guidance for creator settings. If the Pin has no download option, ask the creator for a copy or save it to a board for later reference. Do not try to get around a restriction.
When FetchClip may be useful
FetchClip accepts an individual Pin link and checks whether a supported public image file or MP4 is available. It does not require a Pinterest password. Before a transfer, the page asks you to confirm that you own the content or have permission to download it. That is your statement; FetchClip does not verify ownership or grant a license.
FetchClip cannot make a private, removed, login-restricted, or unavailable Pin public. A publicly viewable Pin is not automatically free to copy, republish, or use commercially. If you are unsure about your rights, do not start the download; save the board reference or contact the creator.
Check the file and your intended use
When a download finishes, confirm that the file opens and is the expected image or video. The available source determines its file type and quality. A download does not grant permission to repost, edit, sell, or use the material in a project. Get the appropriate permission for each intended use, including separate material such as music or photographs inside a video.
For FetchClip’s exact steps and transfer limits, read the download guide. For an unavailable link or interrupted transfer, see the troubleshooting FAQ.
